Screen printing is a method of decorating clothes that has been around for hundreds of years. In essence, it's as simple as putting paint on a canvas and pressing it into a substrate (in our case T-shirts). Nothing easier, right?

Well, like everything else in life, it's not quite like that. Screen printing is both an art and a science. At Maudlin Merchandise we have been perfecting our technique since we first started working on it.
Whether it's looking for new inks or new formulas to make it smoother and more durable, or even acquiring new machinery that simplifies our work while increasing its quality, we work hard to deliver the best possible screen printing work to our customers.

Since day one, we have used automatic machines for every job. This guarantees a number of advantages:
- all prints are the same; we completely eliminate the human error that exists when working manually;
- printing is carried out much more quickly, clearly increasing our production capacity and enabling faster deliveries;
- waste is considerably reduced because we spoil fewer garments.

In 2016 we acquired one of the first LED display tables in Portugal, allowing us to "burn" a picture up to 10 times faster than before and with more detail. It was a game changer in the way we worked.

This year we made the biggest revolution in our pre-production, not only in terms of quality and speed, but also in ecological terms, with the acquisition of a machine that prints directly onto the boards. As far as we know, it's one of the first of its kind in Portugal and allows us to work with even higher quality by reducing the size of the dots on the board, exposing even faster and washing the boards even quicker. There is also a saving of hundreds of kilos in non-recyclable photocopies (essentially transparent paper) that we no longer use, as well as tape and a host of other components. We simplify the pre-production process of screen printing while speeding up one of the company's most difficult departments to manage.
Alongside these innovations, we are preparing a series of other measures that will allow us to considerably increase our screen printing production capacity, making the whole process faster without ever jeopardising the quality for which we are renowned.
