Something we come across quite often are clients who try to imitate famous brands<\/a>. Although we know that in most cases this happens without any intention of making money (it's for own use), it is still extremely counterfeit, which is illegal and has very serious legal consequences for everyone involved.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

What is counterfeiting?<\/strong><\/h3>\n\n

Imitation or counterfeiting happens when you copy the symbol of the brand that made the original.<\/p>\n\n

Imagine you find the Chanel logo on the internet and contact a printing company to make decorated t-shirts<\/a> with that logo. Well, that's counterfeiting and it's illegal. Very illegal.<\/p>\n\n

Who doesn't remember the Levi's t-shirts<\/a> that were so famous in summer 2018? From one moment to the next it seemed that everyone was wearing a white T-shirt with an (almost) rectangular logo. Most of these t-shirts were bought at fairs or on the internet. So... counterfeiting.<\/p>\n\n

What are copies?<\/strong><\/h3>\n\n

Copies are garments that are similar in shape to the original design, without using the brand name or using a different name.<\/p>\n\n

Who doesn't remember the ARdidas tracksuits you used to buy at flea markets? Very similar to the Adidas originals, they have a different name and logo from the Adidas logo, it's perfectly cool!<\/p>\n\n

Other brands like Diesel opt for different strategies<\/a> and use creativity to sell a little more and gain greater brand recognition, while at the same time educating people.<\/p>\n\n
