Flex<\/a> is - we've said it many times - the ugly duckling of textile printing.<\/p>\n\n

Do we like direct printing<\/a> better? Yes, and we're not going to say that flex<\/a> is the best option on the market for printing clothes, but it's nowhere near the worst. It has its uses and we continue to produce daily using this method (in the last two years we've even broken records for producing clothes using this method).<\/p>\n\n\n\n

.<\/p>\n\n

The print flex and cut flex are extremely useful when you need a few garments at an attractive price. I dare say that in some cases it is the ideal solution for this type of work. In other cases, it's the only option.<\/p>\n\n

Vinyl Printing<\/figcaption><\/figure>\n\n

Customers' biggest fear when using this method of T-shirt printing is the rectangles around the image. Let me be very clear. There is no rectangle around the garment.<\/p>\n\n

Look at the image above. Of course, only the text and image are printed. The transparent film you see is called transport film and is just a sheet used to centre the image in the right place. As soon as the image is pasted on, this transparent sheet is removed completely from the garment and all you see (and feel) is your finished work.<\/p>\n\n

.<\/p>\n\n

And where should we use flex?<\/strong><\/p>\n\n

We use it a lot for jobs with polyester items (workwear or sportswear, for example) or when the image to be printed doesn't have much detail in the margins to be cut out (like the image below, from our friends and neighbours at Amazing Factory).<\/p>\n\n

When should we NOT use flex?<\/strong><\/p>\n\n

Any image that is too small or has too much detail (like the smaller text in the photo below)<\/p>\n\n

In this type of work (the photo was silk-screened) the smallest text would never be of good quality. We have to remember that flex is a film cut with a blade. It's impossible to cut letters as small as the others.<\/p>\n\n

How do I get a good job in flex?<\/strong><\/p>\n\n

Flex is perfect for large, crowded text. Images that don't need to be cropped with a lot of detail (damn, let me tell you it looks great on round images), but especially on images with little print area (once again, text).<\/p>\n\n
