We've talked here in the past about how important the composition of sweatshirts is to the quality of the decoration<\/a> we make. Quite simply, if you have a quality T-shirt, you have a quality printing service and the higher the percentage of cotton, the higher the quality of the item and its decoration.<\/p>\n\n

.<\/p>\n\n

However, there are those who have taken this information too literally, namely about the amount of cotton a garment should have.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

In recent months we've seen a growing trend of customers demanding 100 per cent cotton sweatshirts.<\/p>\n\n

If it's normal and even recommended for a T-shirt to have 100 per cent cotton, it's not so normal for a sweatshirt to have such a high percentage.<\/p>\n\n

In fact, we've even managed to find some 100 per cent cotton sweatshirts, although in 99 per cent of cases they're shirts with french terry<\/a> inside, without any carding.<\/p>\n\n

Cardigan jumpers are summer jumpers, thinner, cooler and without the \"fur\" inside. Not at all what these customers are looking for.<\/p>\n\n

.<\/p>\n\n

It's common knowledge that I personally don't like polyester. However, polyester is important in a sweatshirt to give it a bit of elasticity and to create the carding we've just described above. As much as I dislike this composition, it's an essential factor in a shirt.<\/p>\n\n

.<\/p>\n\n

Now, as a rule, with the very rare exception of tailor-made shirts, the sweatshirt with the highest percentage of cotton we have available is from Kariban, with 85% cotton and 15% polyester<\/a> It's literally a single model, with two more standard compositions. 50 per cent cotton (which we advise against) and 80 per cent cotton, which is what we normally advise customers to do as they are usually mid-range\/high-end shirts. <\/p>\n\n

Of course, there are shirts with even more polyester. 60\/70\/80%. Everything has its place in the market.<\/p>\n\n

.<\/p>\n\n

The aim of this article is therefore as simple as saying that there are no 100 per cent cotton shirts on the market and that the norm for a quality item is 80 per cent. There's no need to apologise for that, it's a composition that garners respect.<\/p>\n\n

There are other ways to see the quality of an article. A series of finishing details such as whether the hood is double or not, whether it has side seams, quality finishes, etc. In this field we are very well served by some Kariban<\/a> (here<\/a>) and Sol's<\/a> (here<\/a>) articles.<\/p>\n\n
