Why Screen printing to decorate my clothing?

Screen printing is a printing technique that involves transferring an image through a mesh or net matrix (screen) that is stretched on a frame. Ink is applied to the surface of the screen and is forced through the openings of the mesh using a squeegee or spatula.

How does it work?

One of these structures is needed for each color that will be used, and all the frames together will form the final image to be transferred to your clothing.

A photosensitive emulsion is used on each frame, which will pass under ultraviolet light to harden the part of the mesh that will not allow ink to pass through.

This technique is not yet 100% automated, there is a craft component! An alliance that makes the final result almost perfect, making screen printing one of the most chosen techniques for customizing clothing.

Screen printing is a technique widely used by us, Maudlin, and by many printing companies on different items such as cloth bags, T-shirts, sweatshirts, and different surfaces besides fabric, such as plastic, glass, metal, and paper. It is mainly chosen for large-scale productions.

Is there any difference between screen printing on light fabrics and dark fabrics?

Yes, there is a difference. Although they share many basic techniques, there are important differences to consider.

One of the main differences is how the inks are applied to the fabric. In screen printing on light fabrics, the ink is applied directly to the fabric, whereas in dark fabrics, it is necessary to apply a layer of white ink as a base for the application of the color ink - without this base, the colors may appear faded and less visible.

But why choose this technique at Maudlin to customize my clothing?

Good quality-price ratio: It is a fairly inexpensive technique considering its excellent quality. Up to 6 colors can be chosen: It is not a method limited to one color. Ideal for companies whose logo has more than one shade. It is quite durable: It is not the type of print that fades after the first washes; it withstands several years of use with frequent washing without losing color. We have experienced and qualified technicians: although it is a relatively simple technique, it requires technical knowledge to produce consistent and high-quality results. Screen preparation, choice of inks, application of the appropriate pressure, and control of temperature and humidity are examples of factors that directly affect the quality of the print and are factors that our technicians pay maximum attention to.

Now that you know a little better how screen printing works and what its main advantages are, what are you waiting for to place a customization order with us?
